important reminder for customers. April 18, 2017 is the last day
to make prior year contributions for HSA’s and IRA’s. If you

2017 Bank Calendars Now Available
The Sterling Bank 2017 Calendar is now
available at all of our branch locations. This year the calendar
features images submitted by our customers and employees. These
calendars are provided free of charge while supplies last. Thank
you to all who submitted photos for consideration. We hope you
enjoy the calendar and have a wonderful 2017!

original, previously unpublished, non-commercially licensed
photographs to print in our annual FREE Sterling Bank calendar
for 2017. See the guidelines below.
A Photo Release Form MUST be submitted
with all images.

greater community to you are welcomed (events, locations,
things, scenic landscapes, wildlife, Spring, Fall, Summer
and Winter scenes…) Creative images/content encouraged.
Images should be JPG, PDF, EPS, TIF or
PNG format and shot in high resolution. Please do not edit
or alter images.

Sterling Bank Awards $12,000 in
Scholarships to Area Students
CHETEK, Wis. -- A dozen local high
school graduates have been chosen for a $1,000 scholarship from Sterling
Bank. The scholarships are intended to help students pay for
their pursuit of a college education. Three students each from
Luck, Barron, Rice Lake and Chetek\Weyerhaeuser High Schools
were selected. During the past eight years, Sterling Bank has
awarded $96,000 in scholarships to eight dozen area students.
Scholarships are awarded based on an applicant’s demonstration
of leadership, good judgment, work ethic and character. Also
considered is participation in scholastic and/or athletic
endeavors, volunteer activities, pursuit of academic excellence
and a desire to better the community.
This years winners from Luck High School were
John Dikkers, Jordan Jones and Alaura Lemieux. Dikkers will
attend Bethel University in St. Paul, MN. Jones will enroll at
UW-Green Bay and start working toward a degree in Psychology (he
plans to become a school counselor). Lemieux will pursue degrees
in Biology and Theatre at Ripon College in Ripon, WI.
Haley Hong-Johnson, Kaylee Ann Garland and
Benjamin Luke Hanson are the winners from Chetek-Weyerhaeuser
High School. Hong-Johnson will attend UW-Green Bay to major in
Communications. Garland will puruse Pre-Med at UW-Madison.
Hanson is enrolling in a Pre-Med program at the University of
Winners from Rice Lake High School are
McKenzie Lynn Orr, Megan Elizabeth Fell and Cecily Jo Lindner.
Orr will attend UW-La Crosse to study Exercise Science. Fell
selected Winona State University (Winona, MN) to study Nursing.
Lindner plans to major in Kinesiology at the University of
Scholarship winners from Barron are Sarah
Prill, Quincy Stephens and Ethan Weaver. Prill will attend
Viterbo University to study Dietetics. Stephens chose UW-Stevens
Point to pursue a career in Fishery and Aquatic Sciences. Weaver
will begin his college experience by enrolling at UW-Eau Claire.
He intends to eventually attend Law School as well.
